The Terroir
The terroir, which can also be found in the right bank of the Rhône, is a rocky one.
It’s a light soil, shallow, made of quartz schist and mica schist. With its 700 meters wide, the valley is at its tightest at Seyssuel.
This singular entrenchment strengthens the wind system, dries both the climate and the soil, and increases the temperature.
This remarkable configuration offers a unique climate. It’s common to discover on these slopes a flora and a fauna normally seen in the South.
